There's so much to say, and no words to start with.

The last 11 days have been the worst days of my life, by far. Thank God my dad is okay, now I just need to be okay. There isn't much that is stable in my life right now, but for those of you who have been there for me this whole time, I can't thank you enough.

I'm sure a long blog will come later, when my mind becomes less frazzled, and I become caught up on my work.

Over halfway done with the MBA!

You're feeling: Exhausted. I just wrote a 15 page paper on managerial accounting today. That's what I get for waiting until the last minute.

To your left: My desk across the room.

On your mind: There's always a lot on my mind. Tomorrow will be another busy/stressful day.

Last meal included: A brownie and milk. Mmm!

You sometimes find it hard to: say what I mean to say.

The weather: is too cold for this time of year! Eww!

Something you have a collection of: Shot glasses. Ireland, Florida, NY, Vegas, etc...

A smell that cheers you up: Coconuts...or Chrome cologne! haha.

A smell that can ruin your mood: Crap. Les egouts!

How long since you last shaved: Today.

The current state of your hair: In a messy ponytail.

The largest item on your desk/workspace (not computer): My textbooks- accounting and marketing.

Your skill with chopsticks: Not too bad! I ate the whole meal at Benihana's with them.

Which section you head for first in a bookstore: Nonfiction or cooking.

Something you're craving: Rest. I think I need to go on sabbatical.

Your general thoughts on the presidential race: I'm sick of hearing about all the bs. I don't know who I'm picking yet, I'll decide in November.

How many times have you been hospitalized this year: None. Even when I almost broke my foot last week I refused to go for treatment. I am not a wuss! :)

Favorite place to go for a quiet moment: The beach...or else my room.

You've always secretly thought you'd be a good: dancer.

Something that freaks you out a little: The future. :(

Something you've eaten too much of lately: Sugar. ooooh or drinking tequila.

You have never: smoked a cigarette. Only a cigar, once. Eww.

You never want to: be unhappy! Or die alone!

Hello...

I have a lot of random stuff to post eventually, but considering my fatigue I will not be doing that tonight. Plus I'd probably get all riled up again and then I wouldn't be able to get my much needed rest. But on a positive note, the trip to Vegas was fantastic. It was exactly what I needed, although a longer time would have been nice. *shakes fist at real world* I've only been home for about a week, and I'm already looking for more trips. I don't know if it's the winter blues that still linger in me, or something much deeper? Alright, hope all is well. :)

cuz everything inside, it never comes out right...

I haven't posted substantially in awhile. And I don't plan on it tonight. Someday (maybe soon) when I am procrastinating or am bored silly. The semester is already halfway over- I can't believe it. Only 6.5 more weeks. Yikes.

Everything is going well I suppose. I don't really have much to complain about, except that I am still bored, but at least it will be warm soon (I hope) and I can be bored outside.

I'm back dancing again, and I absolutely love it. I started 3 weeks ago, and have been in the best mood I've been in for a long time. I don't know that I can solely credit my content in dance, but nothing else is annoying me to the point of sadness, so that's good.

More to come...hope all is well. Oh, and happy leap year.

I love New York...

While in New York this weekend, we had many Seinfeld references, including this one, which is one of my favorites.

From, "The Dinner Party"

Scene: After the last chocolate babka is purchased. Jerry and Elaine are trying to find another item.

Jerry: That's the last babka. They got the last babka.
Elaine: I know. They're going in first with the last babka.
Jerry: That was our babka.
Elaine: You can't beat a babka.
Jerry: We should have had that babka.
Elaine: They're going to be heroes.
Jerry: What are we going to do now.? If we can't get the babka the whole thing's useless.
Elaine: Well how about a carrot cake?
Jerry: Carrot cake? Now why is that a cake? You don't make carrots into a cake. I'm sorry.
Elaine: Black Forest?
Jerry: Black Forest? Too scary. You're in the Forest, oohh.
Jerry: How about a Napoleon?
Elaine: Napoleon? Who's he to have a cake? He was a ruthless war monger. Might as well get Mengele.
Jerry: That was our babka. We had that babka!
Elaine: What's this one?
Clerk: That's cinnamon babka.
Jerry: Another babka?
Clerk: There's chocolate, and there's cinnamon?
Jerry (To Elaine): Well, we've got to get the cinnamon.
Elaine: No, but they got the chocolate. We'll be going in with a lesser babka.
Jerry: I beg your pardon? Cinnamon takes a back seat to no babka. People love cinnamon. It should be on tables at restaurants along with salt and pepper. Anytime anyone says, "Oh This is so good. What's in it?" The answer invariably comes back, "Cinnamon". "Cinnamon". Again and again. Lesser babka - I think not.
Clerk: 49?
Elaine: I'll have the cinnamon babka.
Jerry:...and a black and white cookie, for me. (Holds up two fingers) Peace!

So in my management class on Tuesday nights, we took a really cool Myers-Briggs personality test. I found out that I am type ENFJ. I have done a little research and I would say it's about 99% accurate about me. I would recommend doing one of these tests, they're pretty cool and I think pretty accurate.

ENFJ Extraverted Feeling with Intuition

ENFJ types arouse support and enthusiasm for new projects. They express themselves well, especially in front of a group. They radiate concern for others and will work hard in their behalf. Their actions are usually guided by an idealistic vision that they believe is possible for people.

Choosing a Major

Say an ideal career is one that lets them use their special abilities

Tend to decide early on a major and stick with it

Tend to choose people-oriented majors that require cooperation, such as teaching, ministry, counseling, or selling

Playing

Often involved in campus activities helping others or providing some service, often as a leader

Initiate many get-togethers in the dorm but first ask what others want to do

Say they have no trouble dating once a week or more

Throw themselves into work but enjoy it if they are helping others

<td valign="top"

Interested in literature and tolerant of theory

Do their best thinking aloud, bouncing ideas off others

Achieve through perseverance and hard work

Want learning to pertain to human values and growth

Possible Causes of Stress

May try to take care of others more than themselves

May over-idealize others

May be oversensitive to indifference and personalize it

Their need to socialize may interfere with work

May try to live by others' "shoulds"

Reading, Writing, Studying

Need harmony to study or achieve potential

Prefer to study with others and often organize study groups

Prefer to read about human interest rather than technical subjects

Would rather talk than write, and often dictate their first drafts

Need to revise final draft to make it more logical and sequential, and to remove too many references to personal convictions

Dealing with Stress

Like going to movies with friends to relieve tension

Naturally rely on friends for support

Naturally give their personal best to any task

Learn to identify and take care of own needs

Must make time for studies in busy social schedule

ENFJ

Smooth-talking Persuader

The ENFJ may best be described as a smooth-talking persuader. The ENFJ's combination of preferences makes this type a natural when it comes to motivating people--even motivating them to do something they may not initially have wanted to do.

Their focus and direction is toward other people (Extraversion), and they are highly skilled in understanding others' needs and motivations (Feeling). These tendencies, along with their gift for imagination and inspiration (Intuition), are expressed in an organized, effective way that allows them to make their imaginative ventures become reality. Hence, the ENFJ is a highly credible leader who attracts many followers.

The ENFJ has the capacity to size up a situation Intuitively and, in a very caring and concerned way, say just the right thing. This is part of why people are drawn to ENFJs, and why ENFJs are such natural leaders. They are seldom at a loss to Intuit just what the group needs or how to reach its goal.

Because of these group-leadership abilities, ENFJs, more than other Feeling types, often rise to the top of a cross section of organizations. They are, indeed, natural and often well-liked leaders. The ENFJ sees the entire world as filed with people whose endless needs and concerns are waiting to be funneled into organizations and institutions that can serve those human needs. ENFJs have a zeal for imposing "what's good for humanity" upon humanity--and, fortunately, more often than not, humanity is better off as a result.

Paradoxically, one of their biggest difficulties derives from one of their greatest strengths. While very accomplished at working with other people and groups, ENFJs can become depressed, wounded, even bitter, if their ideas meet with resistance. They take conflict or rejection very personally, and often carry a grudge against the individuals or groups involved. Disagreements tend to escalate into win-lose issues and become personalized, with loyalties sharply marked, even when the other side had only intended to raise some valid questions. Such behavior by ENFJs in influential positions has divided families, organizations, and systems.

The female ENFJ has an advantage because many of the nurturing, caring qualities associated with this type are considered feminine. However, when an ENFJ female assumes leadership beyond the family and moves, quite naturally, to larger systems, she may have trouble. The system, and especially its male members, may resent her. Suddenly all those qualities for which she was rewarded at home, in college, or in other organizational ranks, now become the basis for scorn because she has "overstepped her bounds" as a woman. She is not doing anything differently from what she has done successfully in the past; the end result, however, can be conflict.

ENFJs are such effective leaders that the male is often seen as a "man among men" and seductively appealing to women. Both men and women look to the male ENFJ for leadership and decisiveness in a supportive climate--and rarely are they disappointed. This notwithstanding, all ENFJs, including males, are often criticized as insincere or superficial because of their smooth and glib way with words. ENFJs may respond to such criticism with incredulity, often followed by depression and self-doubt, because their sincerity and concern are their driving force and motivation.

Relating to an ENFJ is usually fairly easy. As a rule, an ENFJ wants a happy and affirming relationship because that is how everyone works best. Highly articulate, with excellent social skills and a quick sense of humor, ENFJ will still work just as hard at making the occasion a lively and memorable one. Unfortunately, as with most Extraverts, if an ENFJ works too hard at it, all the other person is likely to remember is how much talking the ENFJ did and how little listening.

Parenting, for the ENFJ, is a responsibility and a pleasure. There are young lives just waiting to be molded by the ENFJ's value system. Unlike most other types, especially Percievers, ENFJs don't wait for a child to develop. Instead, right and wrong, good and bad, and other models are imposed in a very warm, supportive, and clearly defined environment. A child will know where an ENFJ parent stands on most things, and how he or she is expected to behave. When behavior is appropriate, affirmation abounds. Negative behavior, however, often makes an ENFJ parent feel like a failure, which in turn can give the child who picks up on these feelings a sense of guilt about failing to please mother and father.

When harmony prevails, the living style of the ENFJ is lively and fun. But there must be order before relaxation, and fun must be balanced by a good measure of work. Peaceful and joyful living are certainly a goal--and an expectation. However, achieving that goal generally requires either following the ENFJ's good intentions or letting the ENFJ show you "the error of your ways" and redirect you toward "real joy"--whatever the ENFJ deems that to be.

As a general rule, people are central and important to ENFJs. This means that if people's needs end up in conflict with rules and schedules, the ENFJ will generally put people first--though not without a sense of martyrdom or possibly guilt.

ENFJ children's verbal skills develop early and stay with them. They are often advised to become public speakers, preachers, or announcers "when they grow up." ENFJ children are pleasers, wanting strokes from adults. They are also hero worshippers, often imitating those they idolize, whether it be a parent, sibling, teacher, or anyone else who has had a dramatic influence on them. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it is not surprising that ENFJ children are often teachers' pets and parents' favorites.

Learning, for ENFJs, is also imitation. They seek to learn by emulating their heroes, and how they learn. In fact, somewhat like ENFPs, so strong is their desire to please and be stroked that ENFJs can end up in careers far removed from their natural abilities if they think that will endear them to the heroes they are emulating.

Family events are fun for an ENFJ. Almost without being asked, the ENFJ child or adult will assume a responsibility for making events entertaining, harmonious, and enriching for all. The ENFJ is usually tuned in to family events, ready to provide games, entertainment, wit, wisdom, or whatever else may be needed. Generally, family members appreciate this dimension of the ENFJ, and of course, the ENFJ then feels affirmed and fulfilled.

Clearly, any opportunity to be with others, to entertain, serve, involve other and be involved, is far more rewarding than sleep or any other solitary activity. In fact, too much time alone can make an ENFJ pensive, moody, self-punitive, and depressed. More than other types the ENFJ needs to move among and be engaged by people. Even a negative stroke from another person is better than being ignored.

ENFJs are drawn to careers that serve others with minimal potential for interpersonal conflict. Work that involves too many specific details, an abundance of paperwork, or too much time alone will be boring if not stressful to ENFJs. They are especially drawn to religious organizations, academia, and psychological services and approach these careers with enthusiasm and commitment. They are natural teachers and preachers, although they can become frustrated with the accompanying administrative demands, ending up somewhat disillusioned.

Senior citizenship may bring some Introversion and objectivity to the ENFJ, and with reflection may come the insight that the world is not going to be saved by anything the ENFJ can do, that life is going to continue--and probably quite well--without the ENFJ. Unless there is some respite from service to others, the ENFJ can suffer burnout. If that is avoided, the natural growth cycle can afford the ENFJ the chance to stop, "smell the daisies"--and quit trying to save the entire world. As a result, retirement, though perhaps still characterized by the service ethos, can also allow more focus on personal needs and a more relaxed, less compulsive way of life.

Famous likely ENFJs include Ronald Reagan (who is socially gregarious--ENFJs are naturally "great communicators"--and whose emotional stance on issues translates into rigid, not very negotiable positions); Jerry Falwell (who believes all would be well if people followed his moral preachings, and whose visions have indeed garnered a great following); and Martin Luther King, Jr. (whose highly idealistic dreams and charismatic leadership created a fiercely loyal following).

Summary - ENFJ

Contributions to the Organization

Bring strong ideals of how organizations should treat people

Enjoy leading and facilitating teams

Enjoy cooperation

Communicate organizational values

Like to bring matters to fruitful conclusions

Leadership Style

Lead through personal enthusiasm

Take a participative stance in managing people and projects

Responsive to followers' needs

Challenge the organization to make actions congruent with values

Inspire change

Preferred Work Environment

Contains individuals focused on changing things for the betterment of others

People-oriented

Supportive and social

Has a spirit of harmony

Encourages expression of self

Settled

Orderly

Potential Pitfalls

May idealize others and suffer from blind loyalty

May sweep problems under the rug when in conflict

May ignore the task in favor of relationship issues

May take criticism personally

Suggestions for Development

May need to recognize the limitations of people and guard against unquestioning loyalty

May need to learn to manage conflict productively

May need to pay as much attention to the details of the task as to the people

May need to suspend self-criticism and listen carefully to the objective information contained in feedback

Order of Mental Preferences

Feeling

Intuition

Sensing

Thinking

very much a rant, although today was a good day...

i am just not in the greatest of moods. i wish i was though, considering today was a pretty fun day. i'm just getting annoyed that people put on a mask and act one way, but you know they are another. i am having a tough time finding the real core in people, and even myself. people seem so fake, they don't know what they want, they take advantage of people who mean well and don't know any better. i'm sick of being the person putting in all of the effort. ugh. and i'm not just emotionally hurting now, i am physically hurting too. i am very sunburned (very much my own fault) and there is a chance something is broken in my foot. i think it's probably a strain, but it hurts like hell and i can barely move it. grrr.

but, like i said, today was great. my dad and i went to the PGA's BMW Championship at Cog Hill (formerly the Western Open). It was great sitting outside all day and watching most of the world's best golfers. I got to see Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Aaron Baddeley, Sergio Garcia, and of course the good looking Adam Scott. I think in general, things are going okay. I still don't know if I like my MBA classes, and I'm still not sure if I made the right choice by going back right away. I like my job, I'm getting used to sitting in an office from 8-5 M-F. It's just small parts that I am still learning and struggling with. I have never felt so alone though. Everyone kind of went their own way to find themselves and learn new things, and maybe that's what's supposed to happen at this stage in our lives. I am very much a people person, so it's weird not seeing everyone all the time. Or even talking to everyone all the time. That's what leads me back to my initaial rant about people not trying. I'm sick of trying to make efforts, when the efforts are not returned. Yes, I know everyone went their own ways, but have they forgotten the core? I know I haven't, but maybe that's life. Maybe I am supposed to learn to let go. I don't know.

Time for aspirin and sleep. And more dreading the week ahead.

i'm sick of people. i think my fear of becoming a hermit isn't sounding so bad anymore. i'm still weirded out by the people from my past suddenly coming back. and the people who were currently in my life don't seem to care anymore. i'm sick of being the one putting in any effort. i can't be the glue forever.

well i made it through the first week of my first real job. i think overall it went well. my usual hours are 8-5, unless i eat a faster lunch and then i'm out by 430. i have a cute little cubicle downstairs. tomorrow i will put some pictures up to decorate. i have my own laptop and everything. it's cool so far. i'm starting to make friends too. katie and i went to lunch last week, and i think maggie and i are going this week. it's still really weird, especially to think i will be there 8-5, m-f, every single week. i know i will get used to it though.

school is going well so far too. i really like my online class. i know many people in there, and most of them are in my group for our group project. as long as i read and remember to post in the discussion area, i think this class will be great. as for my tuesday night class, i have mixed feelings. i think theres like 14 people in there, and i am by far the youngest. there are people in there with 20 years of work experience, and one guy is a CEO of a company. yeah. i was like hi, i just started my first real job as a marketing assistant. *sigh* it's also really weird being back at usf. maybe i should have gone somewhere else, where i feel like i belong. meh, i will be done soon enough.

other than that, things are okay. a little boring around j-town. everyone is keeping busy though, so thats always a good thing. i might go to a bonfire tomorrow night with markus, kaeleigh, and dan. i'm not sure though. we'll see how busy i am at work and how tired i am. man, there's just so much to do. so many people to visit too...don't know how i will have time for everything. alright i just thought i would update. maybe more this week. have a good week!

so i made it through my first day of the rest of my life. work. it was okay. the morning was a little rough, but all was well by the afternoon. im starting to talk to people more, even though the age difference can be big. not terrible with some, but larger with others. someone brought in ice cream cake today, so that was a nice thing to take a break to.

i get an hour for lunch. i think that on tuesdays and maybe fridays i will only take a half hour, thus getting out early. tuesdays for sure i will want to be out by 430 so i can go sit in beautiful usf for 4 hours. ugh. i still feel fairly neutral on the tuesday class. i signed on for my online class today, and im more excited about that one. i think because i dont really know anyone in it. i know one girl, she went to usf and graduated the year before us. tomorrows class though, it will be me, kaeleigh, markus, and dan. very much filled with mixed feelings on that. oh well. i'll get over it.

i actually feel the best ive felt all year. i dont even know why. maybe because things are getting better and starting to fall into place. i think enough time has gone by that i am starting to get over evreything that has occurred in the past 6 months. i'm finally excited again and starting to feel like jeanne again. not melancholy, boring, about to cry about anything jeanne. i am back to the hyper, boy-crazy, fun jeanne that i was. i was starting to get worried if i was changed forever and would be a depressed person forever. luckily, im not!

i've talked to jason a lot since i've gotten home. he really made my vacation more fun...and has made my week fun too. still wish he lived closer...or i was moving to florida! lol. oh well. alright well i hope everything is going well for everyone. let's see how class goes tomorrow...
